Rating of the best cordless screwdrivers

The modern market for power tools is replete with a variety of models of cordless screwdrivers, produced by both well-known enterprises and companies completely unfamiliar to the consumer. The tools are similar in design, with the main difference being performance.

How to choose a cordless screwdriver?

Buying a screwdriver includes the stage of getting to know its characteristics, the most important of which are as follows:

  • Power... The higher this parameter, the harder the material the screwdriver is capable of working with. The power of household models, as a rule, does not exceed 550 watts.
  • Torque... Measured in Newton meters, it shows the force to which the fasteners are subjected. The higher this figure, the longer the fastener can be tightened. For home use, 10-15 Nm is enough, for professional activities, a torque of up to 40 Nm is needed.
  • Speed control... This function allows you to change the force exerted by the screwdriver on the fastener. The higher the force, the deeper the screw will enter the material. For drilling, you must switch the screwdriver to a mode specially designed for this.
  • Reverse... Reverse tool is more convenient to work with. Previously, this function was only for professional models, today the vast majority of screwdrivers have it.

Rating of screwdrivers

Hitachi W6VA4 620W

A reliable and economical "installer", created by Hitachi engineers specifically for working with wood and plasterboard models. A clear statement of the problem made the model quite highly specialized, for which it is often criticized. But not every day a high-quality tool from a well-known company comes to the market at an almost budgetary price.

Advantages:

  • Engineers have incorporated a power of 13 Nm of torque into the motor. This will give a good margin of safety during long-term installation work with wood and drywall;
  • Compared to other models from world famous brands, W6VA4 offers a very pleasant price, almost at the very beginning of the middle price segment;
  • Hitachi obviously did not spare the cable for this model - the cord length is 7.5 meters;

Disadvantages:

  • The unit from Hitachi engineers turned out to be somewhat heavy. The weight of 1.4 kg is certainly not particularly noticeable against the background of other advantages, but for prolonged work I wanted something easier.

VORTEX SSh-550/1 550 W 20 Nm

Not a bad model for home use. Vortex has long been known as a manufacturer of semi-professional and household tools. SSh-550/1 is a very budget model and at the same time shows decent power characteristics. But, like any Whirlwind technique, it is not designed for long-term work. You cannot arrange a major repair with it, but it is quite suitable for solving household trifles.

Advantages:

  • The price tag is one of the most budgetary in the market. For many manufacturers, screwdriver batteries are more expensive;
  • Quite an incredible figure of 20 Nm of torque. Even if we take into account that the engineers after the tests could embellish a little, the remainder still turns out decent power for a household tool;
  • Whirlwind supplies its equipment mainly with keyless chucks and SSh-550/1 was no exception. The fixation of the working element is carried out quickly, and both conventional drills and bits are suitable for the chuck;
  • Fine gradation of turns. The developers in Whirlwind do not waste time on trifles and have added as many as 19 levels to adjust the speed of revolutions. The tool can even be used in drill mode by switching the speed control to the twentieth level (with the drill icon).

Disadvantages:

  • With accessories, this model is pretty bad. The designers didn't even bother with the belt clip. There are no cases and other little things for convenience either;
  • The manufacturer himself warns in the instructions that when the SSh-550/1 is turned on in negative temperatures, there is a risk of breakage;
  • Even with an all-plastic body, the developers couldn't keep up with a kilogram or so. The weight of the product has reached 1.3 kg, and the design itself looks rather flimsy.

PATRIOT FS 550 520 W 8 Nm

Confident middling in performance. Powerful enough to handle wood, the FS 550 will perform well in minor repairs and long-term construction. Designed with a margin of safety for long-term operation, in which the lock of the start button will help for constant inclusion.

Advantages:

  • Despite the fact that PATRIOT left this model without some nice little things like a case and the like, the price tag of the FS 550 will pleasantly surprise you. It is quite possible to buy a few little things to it separately;
  • The device gives out a confident 8 Nm when working with fasteners. And 4500 rpm at idle speed will not give a pass even when creating holes in the tree;
  • The screw-in depth of the hardware is adjustable. Even work that requires accuracy with the FS 550 will be quite comfortable to carry out;
  • The designers did not forget about the rubberized handle for a better grip, and about the hook for attaching the tool to the belt.

Disadvantages:

  • The machine turned out to be quite heavy - as much as 1.7 kg. Not the best option for professional use on long jobs;
  • PATRIOT also does not provide any attachments to simplify the supply of self-tapping screws.

BISON ZSSH-550-45 550 W 10 Nm

A good and inexpensive solution for those who need to do a lot of monotonous work of assembling structures from wood panels or drywall. High power will speed up installation work and will even allow you to use it as a drill. If the right tool is not at hand, he will cope with the hole in the tree confidently. An ergonomic grip with a pad and a large trigger for added convenience.

Advantages:

  • A very pleasant price tag distinguishes the ZSSH-550-45 in the line, especially against the background of famous brands, which sometimes require a price several times higher for the same indicators;
  • The manufacturer declared a torque of 10 Nm and an idle speed of 4500. With such indicators, the ZUBR will help to quickly cope with even a large volume of work;
  • The care of the speed control is given to the electronics, which allows you to concentrate on work and has a positive effect on the resource of the motor;
  • The engineers did not forget about the switch for continuous operation, to cope with the same type, but the bulk of the work was easier;
  • The function of setting the screw depth will help keep the sheets of material and panels from damage.

Disadvantages:

  • Although with a brushed motor, the tool still came out heavy - 1.6 kg. The manufacturer positions high weight as a result of the use of steel parts to increase reliability. But long-term work will still require a certain endurance from the master;
  • Additional accessories failed - neither a case nor an automatic feed attachment is provided for the tool;
  • The power cable is slightly inferior to other models. The length of the power cord was 3 m.

Makita FS6300JX2 570W

A fairly young unit on the market for mounting screwdrivers, it left many people indifferent. With some engineering flaws, the FS6300JX2 offers the highest torque among its peers in the mounting segment. It will prove itself worthy in work and will give a feeling of comfort in transportation - it is supplied in a proprietary Makita case (system).

Advantages:

  • Makita is known for high quality and quite expensive tools, but this model turned out to be quite budgetary. The price tag is quite low even in comparison with the market average;
  • Work in comfort. The design of the model includes an ergonomic belt clip;
  • The screwdriver impresses with a serious torque indicator and high idle speeds - as much as 6000 per minute;
  • Models added highlighting of the work area. Even in difficult lighting conditions, it will be quite comfortable to work;
  • Manufacturers have spared the cable. To connect to the network, the device is equipped with a wire four meters long;
  • The FS6300 can be used in conjunction with the self-tapping attachment. If large-scale work is ahead, it makes sense to think about purchasing an accessory.

Disadvantages:

  • Due to the use of a brush motor, the apparatus turned out to be quite heavy - 1.4 kg. Not the best solution for long-term work;
  • There is no spindle lock in the system. Manually tightening a self-tapping screw or screw will not work;
  • Despite the high declared power indicators, the manufacturer indicates that the model is designed for small screws - no more than 4 mm in diameter.

DeWALT DW269K 540 W 42 Nm

Cordless screwdriver from a well-known brand. The DW269K is built to a high enough power standard to handle metal. It has several small drawbacks in terms of comfort, which are more than compensated for by the power. But if you have a need to work with high-strength materials, this device is perfect.

Advantages:

  • The DW269K data sheet indicates a torque value of 42 Nm. With an engine capable of developing such power, there will be no problems in any installation work;
  • The electronics take over the speed control of the powerful motor;
  • The manufacturer confirms the high reliability of the product with a three-year warranty;
  • If you plan to work with materials of medium and low strength (for example, with wood or wood panels), the cartridge can be easily twisted and installed something more suitable from other DeWALT models.

Disadvantages:

  • The only thing that can push you away from the purchase is the high price. DeWALT is not used to saving on quality, and given the high power, the tool turned out to be quite expensive;
  • The developers position the model as a tool for working primarily with metals, which will not be damaged by twisting, therefore there is no limitation of the screw-in depth.

Metabo SE 4000 600 W 9 Nm

Designed to make the work of installers easier, as well as to make home repairs comfortable, this small screwdriver will be an indispensable tool. The tightening depth is controlled by means of a coupling and a removable stop. It is not necessary to determine the level of fit of the mounts by eye, with this tool the installation work will become much easier.

Advantages:

  • The SE 4000 uses a certified hexagonal bit chuck. The special Metabo technology makes it as easy to remove the bit as it is to insert. It is enough just to press on the chuck;
  • The tool is very light, weighing only 1100 grams. This advantage will have a significant impact on comfort during long periods of work;
  • In the Metabo SE 4000, the speed control is carried out by the patented Variospeed technology. Electronics itself monitors the density of the material into which the self-tapping screw is screwed and, based on this, adjusts the speed. This rationally consumes the working resource, ensuring stable operation and durability of the motor;
  • Even with a relatively low power consumption (only 600 W), the Metabo motor shows good power values - idling speed is equal to 4400 rpm;
  • German quality is well known and Metabo is not accustomed to lowering the bar. The device comes with a three-year warranty.

Disadvantages:

  • With good data and general impression of the instrument, the price for it still seems somewhat overpriced;
  • Not a very good nozzle design. If you use the automatic self-tapping attachment, the tool becomes quite cumbersome.

BOSCH GSR 6-45 TE 2011 Case 701 W 12 Nm

German craftsmen have combined high functionality and a pleasant level of ergonomics in one model. Ideal for working with drywall boards. A democratic price for this line will allow everyone to evaluate its quality - from ordinary users to professional builders.

Advantages:

  • Like all models of the professional BOSCH line, the GSR 6-45 was created for maximum efficiency. The bit holder allows you to get the tool ready for work in a matter of seconds.The screwdriver is also compatible with the BOSCH MA 55 attachment for tape feed of self-tapping screws.
  • The motor is equipped with a reverse function, and due to its high power and reliability, it can also work as a drill. The rotation speed is regulated by the force of pressing the start button;
  • The tool is designed for long-term operation, so the engineers added a lever to lock the start button so that you can work without being distracted by squeezing the trigger;
  • One of the advantages of this device is the presence of a precision clutch. The set also includes a depth stop. These two factors make it possible to accurately perform work even with a large amount of fasteners - all hardware will be installed in the same way;
  • The GSR 6-45 is very comfortable to use. The body has a special clip for attaching to a belt, as well as an ergonomic handle for ease of use. The set also includes a case for storing tools and accessories.

Disadvantages:

This tool proved to be excellent and did not leave negative feedback on the work.
