Condensing gas boilers differ from conventional boilers with increased performance and power, which are successfully combined with economical fuel consumption.

Continuity of the heating process depends on the efficiency and reliability of its design, which is very important in the cold season. The wrong choice of unit parameters can cause insufficiently high temperature in the house, or cause abnormal operation of the boiler. In addition, it is necessary to select the design of the unit that meets the needs and capabilities of the house.

Device

The design of condensing boilers is identical to the basic convection models. The only difference is the presence of a condensation chamber.

It has a dual function:

  • ensures the settling of water vapor on the walls of a special container with the release of thermal energy;
  • transfers heat to the return flow of the coolant, acting as a kind of heat exchanger.

From the condensation chamber, the coolant immediately enters the primary heat exchanger, where it receives the maximum temperature set by the mode.

Then it enters the secondary (plate) heat exchanger and contributes to the heating of domestic water. After that, the liquid enters the three-way valve, where it finally receives the temperature required for the operating conditions by mixing a certain amount of cooled "return" into the hot stream.

The finished coolant is removed from the boiler and makes another circle of circulation, after which the whole cycle is repeated again.

Advantages:

Disadvantages:

  • specific operating mode;
  • high price.

The operation of condensing gas boilers requires special conditions. Otherwise, you will not be able to achieve the expected result. The specificity lies in the need to work with low-temperature systems.

The degree of heating of the return flow should not exceed the smoke condensation temperature, which is impossible for a conventional radiator circuit in the harsh Russian winter. Therefore, it is necessary either to use a warm floor, or to solve the issue with the help of a low-temperature heating circuit.

In general, condensing boilers are only suitable for southern regions with mild and short winters.
